CHINA MOBILE SETTING (I MOBILE, NOKLA, BLUEBERRY, CSL, TV MOBILE ETC)

Nowadays made in china phone or more popularly known as China Mobile in Malaysia, is quite a common sight on our local Communication shop. These China Mobiles and its clone (such as I MOBILE, CSL, BLUEBERRY and NOKLA to name a few) got some disadvantages. The most common disadvantages is that local telecomunications company (Celcom, Digi, Maxis and U Mobile) MOST PROBABLY do not provide OTA settings (a.k.a. Over The Air settings). Most unlucky customers will end up scratching their head due to the fact that not all telecommunications company provide technical support to configure their phone. So for my friends out there who is not a very tech-savy minded, I provide below a general outline on how to configure your beloved phone. The settings below is for CELCOM SUBSCRIBER ONLY. For other TELCOs, leave your comments and I will post the details in this blog.TQ



MANUAL CONFIGURATION OF GPRS

From Main Menu> Services> Data Account> GPRS

  • If Celcom GPRS does not exist, go to Account # (eg: Account 1),
    Press
    Edit
  • Account Name : celcom GPRS
  • APN : wap.celcom.net.my (Postpaid), celcom (Prepaid), celcom3g(3G SIMcard)
  • Authentication Type : Normal
  • Press Done > "SAVE?" > Select YES
  • Press Back (2X)

Select WAP > Select Settings > Select Edit Profile

  • If Celcom WAP does not exist, go to Profile # (eg: Profile 1), Press OK
  • Select Edit Profile
  • Rename : Celcom GPRS
  • Homepage : http://wap.celcom.com.my
  • Data Account : GPRS : Celcom GPRS
  • Connection : HTTP
  • Proxy Address : 010.128.001.242
  • Proxy Port : 8080
  • Press Done > "SAVE" > Select YES
  • Select Activate Profile
  • "Active Profile" > Press YES


• GPRS configuration completed



MANUAL CONFIGURATION OF MMS


From
Main Menu > Setting > Connections > Data Connections

  • Select Edit a Connection
  • If Celcom MMS does not exist, Press Cancel > Select Add a new connection
  • Profile Name : Celcom MMS
  • Proxy 1 : 010.128.001.242
  • Port 1 : 9201 / 8080
  • GPRS APN : mms.celcom.net.my (postpaid), celcom (prepaid), celcom3g (3G sim)
  • Press Back

Main Menu > Messages > MMS > MMS Settings > Server Profile

  • If Celcom MMS does not exist, go to Profile# (eg: Profile1) > Press OK
  • Select Edit Profile
  • Rename : Celcom MMS
  • Homepage : http://mms.celcom.net.my
  • Data Account : Celcom MMS
  • Connection : HTTP
  • Proxy Address : 010.128.001.242
  • Proxy Port : 8080
  • Press Done
  • "Save?"> Press Yes
  • Go to Activate Profile
  • "Activate Profile?" > Press Yes
  • Select Celcom MMS > Press OK
  • MMS configuration completed


MOTOROLA A1200 WAP AND MMS SETTING

Setting up MMS and WAP on Motorola A1200 ( carrier: Celcom, Maxis, Digi)

1) go to setup

2) then select data network

create 2 profiles,

A)WAP PROFILE

First profile is for WAP, key in this info:
Profile name: Celcom Wap @ Maxis Wap @ DiGi Wap
apn: (celcom= Celcom3g, celcom or wap.celcom.net.my), (Maxis= net), (DiGi= digiwap)
username: (Celcom= none), (Maxis= maxis), (DiGi= wap)
password: (Celcom= none), (Maxis= wap), (DiGi=wap)
IP: (Celcom= 010.128.001.242), (Maxis= 202.75.133.49), (DiGi= 203.92.128.160)
Port: (Celcom=8080), (Maxis=80), (DiGi=80)

leave everything else blank.

Then launch your browser, select the menu button, go to setup and select profiles, then choose the name that we enter previously and then select edit and fill it out this way:

profile name: Celcom WAP @ Maxis Wap @ DiGi Wap

Homepage: (Celcom= http://3g.celcom.com.my), (Maxis= http://wap.maxis.com.my), (DiGi= http://wap.digi.com.my)

Network link: Celcom Wap @ Maxis Wap @ DiGi Wap

Your WAP browser is now successfully configured!!



Now for the second Profile
B)MMS PROFILE

Profile name: Celcom MMS @ Maxis MMS @ DiGi MMS
apn: (celcom= celcom3g, celcom or mms.celcom.net.my), (Maxis= net), (DiGi= digimms)
username: (Celcom= none), (Maxis= maxis), (DiGi= mms)
password: (Celcom= none), (Maxis= wap), (DiGi= mms)
IP: (Celcom= 010.128.001.242), (Maxis= 202.75.133.49), (DiGi= 203.92.128.160)
Port: (Celcom=8080), (Maxis=80), (DiGi=80)

leave everything else blank.

now to complete mms settings go to messages>menu>service setup>Multimedia messages

Default profile should be Celcom MMS @ Maxis MMS @ DiGi MMS
choose edit

MMSC: (Celcom: http://mms.celcom.net.my), (Maxis= http://172.16.74.100:10021/mmsc), (DiGi= http://mms.digi.com.my/servlets/mms)

Network Profile:
Celcom MMS @ Maxis MMS @ DiGi MMS (the one you saved from data network)

now you have your MMS service configured, good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
